What we do?

The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

We have a trusted network of salons, and wigs are fitted at an approved salon closest to you. We start by matching as closely as possible to the natural hair colour. Because it’s real hair, the wig can be cut, curled, or straightened to match an original look — or to create a new style.

We know there’s a lot going on for you, so we make it very easy to deal with us. You can phone or email us, whichever is better for you. Rest assured that we value your privacy and will never share your information, except with those involved in fitting your wig.

Providing free real hair wigs is at the heart of what we do, but we also want to support the development of less aggressive and less toxic cancer treatments. In 2016, thanks to the huge efforts of our fantastic fundraisers, we were able to begin funding academics and organisations involved in researching the causes of paediatric cancer.

When The Little Princess Trust first began, we hoped for a day when there would no longer be a need for an organisation like this. We hope, by funding research, to one day make this a reality.

The Little Princess Trust provides free, real-hair wigs for children and young people experiencing the devastating effects of hair loss. We also fund pioneering, life-saving research into childhood cancers.

We use hair donations and fundraising monies sent to us by our amazing supporters, to manufacture and fit our beautiful real hair wigs. Established in 2006, we have supplied over 12,000 wigs to children and young people and have invested circa £20 million into ground-breaking childhood cancer research. Watch our film to find out more about our charity.

How we spend

Last year we were able to help hundreds of children and young people by arranging fitted, real hair wigs, free of charge.

There are many elements that add to the cost of the wigs, including: manufacture, storage, salon fees, and so on — but, it’s important that we continue to do this for free.

Since we began funding research into childhood cancers, we have provided grants totaling circa £5,000,000.

Applications for this funding must pass our rigorous review and must ultimately benefit children.

By offering practical help and funding research, we are able to help children now and into the future. We are able to continue doing this, thanks to the fantastic support of our donors and fundraisers.

We keep a very close eye on every penny raised and spent. If you have any queries relating to this, please get in touch with us.
